Tokyo-listed , which provides consumer finance, has launched a venture capital fund that is based in Singapore. The fund, Saison Capital, concentrates on financing early-stage firms outside Japan.

“Through Saison Capital, Credit Saison looks forward to strengthening and advancing its ability to make quick and effective investment decisions on promising start-ups around the world, not only in Asia ex-Japan but also in Africa, South America and other regions,” the Japanese firm said in a statement last week.

Back in June 2015, Credit Saison set up Saison Ventures Co, a corporate venture capital firm in the Japanese credit card industry.
